Before Your Lash Appointment: The Dos and Don'ts
A little prep goes a long way. Here is exactly what to do — and what to avoid — before your lash appointment, so the fitting goes smoothly and your extensions last as long as they should.
Beautiful lashes start before you ever sit in the chair. How you turn up to your appointment affects how smoothly the fitting goes and, more than most people realise, how long your extensions last afterwards.
None of it is complicated. A few small habits in the day or two before make all the difference, and a few things are worth avoiding entirely. Here is the short version.

Do these before you come in
Come with clean lashes. Arrive with clean lashes, free of any makeup or residue. Clean lashes give the glue a proper surface to bond to, which is what makes a set last.
Get enough sleep. Rest well the night before. A lash appointment means lying still with your eyes closed for a while — easy and relaxing when you are rested, harder when you are not.
Stay hydrated. Drink enough water in the lead-up so your eyes stay comfortable throughout.
Do your facial first. If you have a facial or any skin treatment planned, book it before your lash appointment, not after. Steam, oils, and products around the eye area can interfere with a fresh set.
Tell your lash artist. Let us know if you take any medication or have any eye sensitivity. The more we know, the better we can tailor the appointment to you.
Make sure your eyes are healthy. If your eyes are red, irritated, or infected, please reschedule. It is always worth waiting a few days for a comfortable appointment and a result that lasts.
And skip these
Skip the coffee. Caffeine can make your eyes flutter and move more during the appointment, which makes precise placement harder. Leave it for afterwards.
No eye makeup. Come without any eye makeup — that includes mascara and eyeliner. Anything on the lashes or lid gets in the way of a clean application.
Don't pull your lashes. Leave your natural lashes exactly as they are. No pulling, no curling — we work with what you have.
Leave the contacts at home. Please wear glasses instead of contact lenses to your appointment. It keeps your eyes more comfortable while you rest them closed.
No oily products. Avoid oily creams, serums, or skincare around the eye area beforehand. Oil is the main enemy of lash glue.
Easy on the mascara. Mascara is worth a special mention: it works against the glue and shortens the lifespan of your extensions, so skip it before and go without it after.
Avoid extreme heat. Steer clear of saunas, steam rooms, and other high-heat treatments right before your appointment — heat and steam soften a bond before it has had a chance to set.
The short version
Turn up rested, with clean, bare lashes and healthy eyes, and leave the coffee, oils, and heat for another day. Do that and you have given your new set the best possible start.

Questions we get asked
Can I wear makeup to my lash appointment?
Please come with a clean, bare face around the eyes — no mascara, eyeliner, or eye makeup. Clean lashes let the glue bond properly, which is what makes your set last.
Why can't I have coffee before my appointment?
Caffeine can make your eyes flutter and move more while you are resting them closed, which makes precise lash placement harder. Enjoy it afterwards instead.
Can I keep my contact lenses in?
It is best to wear glasses instead. Your eyes stay more comfortable while they are closed for the appointment, and there is no risk of irritation.
What if my eyes are irritated or I am unwell?
Please reschedule. If your eyes are red, irritated, or infected, it is safer and more comfortable to wait a few days — and your set will turn out better for it.
